The Franciscan Friars of the Atonement and the Staff of the Centro Pro Unione join the Family of Paul Crow and the Disciples of Christ in rejoicing for having known and worked with Paul on many occasions. We join in the sadness at the loss of a dedicated ecumenist. We share the announcement of his passing to all of our friends:
It is with great sadness that the Christian Unity and Interfaith Ministry announces the death of the Rev. Dr. Paul A. Crow, Jr., who had been a champion for the ecumenical movement.
Ms. Mary Crow and her family ask that we share the following statement:
We are celebrating the life of the Rev. Dr. Paul A. Crow, Jr. in his death and resurrection on Saturday, January 23, 2021, at 11:30 pm. He served as President of the Council on Christian Unity (Now Christian Unity and Interfaith Ministry) for 25 years, which thus enabled him to give expression to his passion in seeking Christian unity \u2013 which was the \u201cpolar star \u201c of his ministry \u2013 and his love for Christ\u2019s Church. We remember him lovingly in the words of scripture, \u2018Well done, good and faithful servant.\u201d (Mt. 25:21)
Dr. Crow was a long-time friend, colleague, and mentor to many Disciples and ecumenical friends as he offered significant leadership for over 40 years in promoting the unity of all Christians and the oneness of Christ\u2019s church in its local, regional, national, and international expressions. Dr. Crow helped to define and shape the ecumenical movement in many ways \u2013 especially in nurturing seminary students and younger pastors in understanding their call to a ministry that includes the vision of unity and reconciliation as the \u201cmatrix for mission\u201d in our world today.
We are in gratitude to God for the life and ministry of God\u2019s servant, Paul A. Crow, Jr.<\/p>

Ioannis (John) Zizioulas, Metropolita di Pergamo, ha donato alla causa dell’unit\u00e0 dei cristiani. \nIl suo patrimonio di finezza teologica nell’affrontare questioni difficili e il suo desiderio di trovare una via per il bene del Popolo di Dio e per l’unit\u00e0 della Chiesa di Dio rimarranno un faro di speranza per tutto il popolo cristiano. \nLa particolare amicizia da Lui mostrata al Centro e ai Frati Francescani dell’Atonement con le sue frequenti visite e le sue conferenze sar\u00e0 un costante ricordo della sua passione per l’unit\u00e0 della Chiesa e un incoraggiamento per il nostro ministero di riconciliazione e di unit\u00e0 tra i cristiani. \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Il Centro Pro Unione<\/strong> ricorda con profondissimo affetto e stima Suor Mariangela Congiu<\/strong>, grande esempio di costruzione quotidiana, continuativa e amorevole di unit\u00e0.<\/p>

Suor Mariangela \u00e8 stata nostra preziosa consulente<\/strong> nella stesura del sussidio italiano della Settimana di preghiera per l\u2019unit\u00e0 dei cristiani con le sue puntuali annotazioni<\/strong> che davano qualit\u00e0 al testo, con il suo spirito sempre incoraggiante<\/strong> e con la giusta ironia per superare ogni eventuale ostacolo. \u00c8 stata, inoltre, sempre attiva nella partecipazione ai progetti<\/strong> e alle attivit\u00e0 del Centro, sorridente, entusiasta, collaborativa e felice di costruire unit\u00e0<\/strong> anche con un costo personale di dedizione alla causa ecumenica<\/strong>.<\/p>
